Server
In Nimbul, a server is a base from which instances are launched. When you add a server to Nimbul, you specify various profile information that will apply to all instances launched from that server. For details, see Managing Servers.
Server profiles are used throughout Nimbul. Each server belongs to a cluster (described below).
Cluster
In Nimbul, a cluster is a set of servers that are grouped together for easier management. Along with defining variables and startup scripts at the provider account and server levels, you can specify an additional script and variables at the cluster level. Clusters allow you to get an at-a-glance view of storage volumes, hostname leases and IP addresses for all servers in the cluster, as well as basic instance statistics and direct access to instance details.
When launching an instance in Nimbul, you will first choose a cluster, then select one or more servers from which to launch instances.
Note: Because servers are created within clusters, you must create clusters before you can create servers. For more information, see Object Hierarchy.
